I was standing in a doorway of my home. I knew it was my home in tbe dream, but it was not my actual home. There were rollhills going up towards the horizon. I see two giant lions sitting nearby. I get frightened for my dogs and call them into the house just as my small dog starts to get chased by a giant coyote the size of the lions. He gets in and I close the door.
Dreams can be highly personal and often reflect our subconscious thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Here’s a possible interpretation of the various elements in your dream:
Standing in a Doorway: Doorways often symbolize transitions or new beginnings. Being in a doorway may indicate that you are at a crossroads in your life, contemplating significant changes or decisions.
Home: The home typically represents safety, security, and your inner self. The fact that it looks like your home but isn’t may suggest that you are exploring aspects of yourself that feel familiar yet different. It could also signify feelings of displacement or uncertainty about your current situation.
Roll Hills: The rolling hills could symbolize life's ups and downs, suggesting you are navigating through a period of change or emotional flux. They might represent the future and the challenges that lie ahead.
Giant Lions: Lions often symbolize strength, courage, and authority but can also represent threats or intimidation. Their size may suggest that you are feeling overwhelmed or threatened by a powerful force or situation in your life. It may also indicate your own strength that you may need to tap into.
Fear for Your Dogs: Dogs are typically associated with loyalty, protection, and companionship. Worrying about them can reflect your concerns about protecting loved ones or your own vulnerabilities. This may be indicative of a protective instinct or anxiety about the well-being of those you care for.
Giant Coyote: Coyotes in dreams can symbolize cleverness, survival, and adaptability, but they can also represent trickery or unpredictability. The coyote chasing your dog might suggest that you feel threatened by an unpredictable situation or influence that could harm something you value, represented by your small dog.
Closing the Door: This act can be a significant symbol of protection, decision-making, or the desire to avoid confrontation. It indicates a proactive choice to shield yourself (and your loved ones) from danger or anxiety, signaling your attempts to control a situation.
Overall, this dream may be reflecting feelings of anxiety about potential threats in your life, a desire for safety, and the need to make decisions in the face of uncertainty. It may encourage you to explore ways to protect what is meaningful to you and to confront any fears or challenges you might be facing. Consider if there's a recent experience, worry, or change in your life that aligns with these themes, as that could provide additional insights into the dream's significance.
